"I had already placed Green Day on my studio white board (to do list) when I got word that they had just been nominated to the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame. My first thought was, “what the hell has taken me so long?”.
Green Day has managed to do something very few punk bands before them were able to do – stay relevant as they matured. Breaking on to the scene in the early nineties with their party rock anthems on the album “Dookie”, they seemed to be the back drop of many house parties one attends at that age. As I and my musical taste matured, so did GD. Trading in some of these party anthems to tackle social and political issues of the early 2000’s, these three punks stormed back into spotlight with the rock opera American Idiot. It was this album that reinvigorated my interest in the band, and ultimately lead to me attending their Broadway show of the same name – this show could only be described as life changing for me."
