"This piece definitely took me on a journey. As I was conceptualizing this piece, I was not only reading Billy Idol’s recent biography, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to spend some time in London while doing so. As I read the book and walked around West London, I was able to get a real sense and feel for what it must have been like in the 70’s when the punk rock scene exploded. Much like my pilgrimage to The Whiskey A Go-Go in L.A and New York’s CBGB’s, I could almost hear the Sex Pistols and Gen-X echoing down the narrow corridors of SOHO and Covent Garden. I feel the gritty backdrop of this city really comes across in those early punk bands and I hope I was able to capture a bit of that rebellious attitude in this offering." - Stickman
