"I was meeting with my publisher and his wife for dinner, since I was early and knew that his wife loves martini's I decided to order one for them. After asking for a waitress for a Martini with two olives (see, I had paid attention to how many olives she likes) the drinks were on the drinks were on the table when they arrived. Well, she took one sip and made the worst face I have ever seen and said, "What the hell is in this Mystery Martini?" Little did I know that she only takes a Stoli-Martini, Up, extra Dry, with two olives, and an onion. So I painted this piece as a mystery." ~M.G.
