"I make no apologies for painting another Motley piece. When something is the single reason you set down a certain path, it is easy to be continually inspired and forced to circle back. It’s no secret that the “Shout at the Devil” album was a pivotal point in my life and inspired the subject matter I paint. But more specifically, it was the transition from the apocalyptical prologue of “In the Beginning” to the album’s title track that blew my mind. The concept for this piece tried to capture the live visual of that transition, when the cadence of Tommy’s bass drum and Nikki’s bass guitar march behind Mick’s droning opening riff.
This piece also had a secondary purpose – to scratch an itch I’ve had for a while to do another action/movement piece, similar to my previous Aerosmith offerings." -Stickman
