"In this spectacular image lensed late in the evening, atmospheric alpenglow conditions are creating a vibrantly dramatic expression of light using the entire expanse of the Pacific Ocean and sky as a canvas.
This is the stunning sister image of Zedekiah's "Point Sur Monument of Light". This was lensed a few minutes after and a couple of miles north along the remarkable California Big Sur Coast.
The sun has already set over the horizon and exotic reflective conditions in the atmosphere are focusing a beam of light relative to the suns position, and reflecting this beam up onto the bottom of the Cirrocumulus clouds. Then via diffused reflection, this beam is cast down onto the ocean surface over a huge distance across the Pacific Ocean.
This stunning effect changed from light amber to intense purples and violets and finally a dark golden hue before fading out after only a time span of 12 minutes." - Zedekiah
