"Those familiar with my work won’t be surprised by another Stones piece. It recently occurred to me however that, although I have often painted these two, I have not ever captured them together on the same canvas.
This piece was also a little different for me, for the fact that my primary concern was not the realism of the subjects, but more so the composition and feel of the piece as a whole. I wanted the this piece to induce the feeling of the most decadent era in rock n' roll, where the “peace and love” of the sixties started to crash headfirst into a rapidly changing landscape and metal and punk were starting to emerge." -Stickman
